La grande migrazione dall’Italia del Sud
The second panel is dedicated to the contribution of immigrants from the southern regions, who arrived with a Fiat 500, depicted with original details down to the wheels of the new model in front of the confinement factory at Corso Peschiera 299, once considered a punitive workshop for “hotheads.”
The first Fiat 500, launched in 1957 and immediately popular thanks to its compact and economical design, was conceived by Engineer Dante Giacosa with the goal of creating an affordable car that was easy to drive and suitable for the needs of Italian families, who often had to cope with the limited resources of the post-war period.
