Trasformazione e rigenerazione urbana

Three eras are represented retrospectively in the area of Parco Aurelio Peccei (identifiable by two works of art), a green space inaugurated in 2015 in a zone formerly characterized by heavy steel and later mechanical industry. This area developed from the late 19th century, was rebuilt and completed after the bombings of World War II, and was eventually decommissioned in the 1990s. The work is a tribute to the policy of reclaiming disused industrial areas to foster the well-being of the neighborhood’s population through both ecological intervention and social cohesion. The history of Turin is observed in the Aurora and Barriera di Milano districts, located in the city’s inner suburbs, and their temporal development within a successful public administration project, intended to inspire thoughts on applying similar strategies to other urban contexts.
