Il tram del futuro
The depiction of the tram, inspired by the Futurist movement, originates from the memory of the monorail presented at the Italia ’61 Exhibition. On board the tram of Line 11, which once passed through Via Sacchi, are working women, forming an ideal continuity between past and present.
Women in the industrial sector of the 1930s and contemporary women in various roles and occupations evoke a history spanning nearly two centuries, representing a significant part of the industrial workforce in Turin.
These female figures evoke a story of sacrifice and silence, within a reality that has over time become multiethnic and multicultural, yet still marked by struggles and demands that resonate with those of the distant past.
